Melissa Devorkin
Melissa Devorkin is a second-year law student at DePaul University College of Law. Melissa has always had a passion for working with children. She has had many unique opportunities working with a diverse group of children. For instance, Melissa has worked as a camp counselor, as well as, a volunteer at nonprofit agencies, such as the Boys and Girls Club and La Causa Crisis and Respite Center. Now, Melissa has focused her law career around children and plans on being guardian ad litem representing the best interest of children in child protection proceedings. During the 2019 summer, Melissa had an intern position at the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and Court Appointed Child Advocate (CASA). Moreover, in 2020 Melissa had the opportunity to work with an attorney on special education cases fighting for the rights of individuals with disabilities in the school district. Overall, Melissa’s goal is to zealously advocate for children and ensure all voices are heard.
