Dana Oneil
Dana O’Neill earned her degree in Therapeutic Recreation from the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse, with a minor in Psychology. During her college years, she was a member of the UW–La Crosse dance team, combining her love of movement, wellness, and teamwork.
After graduation, Dana began her career as a Recreation Specialist with the Special Recreation Associations in Northern Illinois, where she developed and implemented inclusive recreational programs for individuals with special needs. She later served as the Recreation Director and Special Olympics Coordinator for the Oconomowoc Developmental Training Center Group Homes. During this time, she was honored to be selected as one of Team Wisconsin’s gymnastics coaches for the World Special Olympic Games in North Carolina.
Dana has coached multiple Special Olympics sports teams and also led the Hartford Union High School dance team for three years. Dana comes to All Star from a successful career in Media and Publishing, returning to her roots in working with individuals with special needs—a passion that continues to inspire her every day. In addition to her background in recreation, Dana is a Certified Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach, blending her expertise in fitness, health, and wellness to support others in achieving their goals. Outside of work, Dana is an avid skier and serves on the Ski Patrol at Little Switz. She enjoys staying active through water fitness, Pilates, and barre classes, and loves hiking in her free time. In the summer, she embraces “lake life” and enjoys fishing for bluegills, while winters are spent skiing and ice fishing.
ana also loves spending time with her family and grandbabies, as well as her beloved Labrador, Mabel. When she’s not outdoors or coaching, she enjoys crocheting—a relaxing creative outlet that balances her active lifestyle. A lifelong lover of labs, laughter, and lake days, Dana brings her positive energy and passion for helping others in everything she does.
